Hi chaps, my wife and I (in our 70s) are in strict lockdown ... we're managing to get supplies so no real complaints. I am a passionate cook and have found this enforced incarceration an opportunity to spend a lot of time cooking. It means I can spend several enjoyable hours a day preparing and making, I hope, some interesting dishes, let's face it, apart from the gin, the evening meal is a highlight for us. I have a list (maybe 200 meals) that my wife can browse, these are dishes that I've prepared over the years, some favourites some basics and some treats etc. but I'm looking at expanding my repertoire so here's the challenge ... to ease the boredom what is the ONE turn-to dish you prepare, the ONE guaranteed winner ?

Napulitano Ragu each time I make all ask for more.

Um, since I have eggs appearing in my back yard... omelets. Or soft boiled eggs. No way those will run out here... With the former, I throw in whatever seems available in the house, although I prefer to start with cheese. But whatever veggie is crossing my path... And a dip through the spice racks.

Good thread Roger Burton. :okay:

Wow! You have a whole repertoire. You know you are going to have to share some of those recipes with us. :D

I reckon curry is my guaranteed winner. Almost any ingredient can be curried - although I must admit that the current Recipe Challenge ingredient (olives) may be an exception. I am so used to making curry that I can knock one up at the drop of a hat. And it happens to be the one thing I'm craving in lockdown.

Yes MG ... I had an excess of parsnips , I usually roast a couple, but had to make something else and found a recipe for curried parsnip soup ... excellent.

If it were just me, pizza.
Yes Reuben, not something I normally make but I do have a "stone" for the oven, problem is we can't get 'strong' bread flour, what little I have I use for ... well ... bread. When supplies get better it's certainly being added to the list.

Thanks Sarana, I found your recipe and it looks fascinating and doable (however you spell doable) I might struggle to get a rabbit though ... can I maybe use chicken thighs ?
Buongiorno Roger,
I think chicken thigh no work to good the Ragu cook so long they disintegrate unless put inside Ragu later to cook. My local butcher sell rabbit may be ask where your butcher is.
