midnight munchies?

Lunch meats and cheeses, or lunch meat sandwiches. I will generally justify it by only making a half a sandwich, but in reality that's after I already spent several minutes standing at the fridge grazing on the shredded lunch meat and cheeses right out of their bags first, lol. Also, I will refrain from having a side of chips with it, and go for something healthier like a large dill pickle spear or some black olives, plus maybe a few spoonfuls of cottage cheese.

Another favorite is cold leftover pasta, especially if I made some rigatoni in a ground beef sauce. I will drown it with parmesan/romano cheese and eat it cold, along with a slice of bread and butter.

I used to be a big time breakfast person at midnight, but that was back when I was hitting up the bars a lot, and we would all go out for breakfast afterwards at some all night diner. These days since I don't go out to bars anymore at all, and I eat breakfast rather early as is (usually around 5:30am), I don't bother with breakfast foods at midnight anymore since I will be eating them again in a few hours anyhow.

Lunch meats and cheese make a good midnight munchie selection. I will sometimes make meat and cheese rolls and just forego using bread. Also, I will sometimes cut the meat and cheese into squares and eat it with butter crackers. I like to make my own Lunchables as the kind you buy in the stores are so expensive.

I am surprised to hear of someone having Brussels sprouts for a midnight snack. Over here, people only tend to eat them with their Christmas meal. I usually just have toast if I'm hungry at night. I can't get to sleep if I have anything bigger.

I generally don't eat late night. However, if I do it's toast, cereal, or something light. I never eat a very heavy meal going into bed - not only does it add weight due to processing issues while sleeping, it also makes you wake up with one hell of a stomachache (and you gotta go use the restroom!) as soon as you get out of bed. I find lighter snacks not only treat you better but can fill that void or urge in.

Late night, I have sweet cravings. It's mainly because after dinner I want dessert rather than something salty. However, I have a sweet tooth, so I always turn to chocolate. If I have any sort of desert at home like cheesecake, then I go for that, otherwise I just grab a bar of plain milk or dark chocolate to break off and nibble on. The other night I really wanted some kind of desert and did not have any sort of cake at home, so I make a mug cake that literally too me two minutes to make. I was amazed by that, so now I look for mug cake recipes that I can whip up just for one serving late at night.
