Mushroom Swiss Brisket Bagel Burger

_DSC2385.jpg

Ingredients (this is for one burger, just multiply ingredients for more)

5 Ounce Ground Brisket Patty
1 "Everything" Bagel (a plain bagel or onion bagel will work if that's what you can get)
1 Cup White Button Mushrooms, Sliced
1 Cup Sweet Yellow Onion, Sliced
2 Tablespoons Butter
1 Slice Swiss Cheese (2 slices if you like a lot of cheese)
SPG (Salt, Pepper, Granulated Garlic)

Instructions

Form 5 ounces of ground brisket into patty large enough to fit your bagel. Season with SPG. I cooked my burgers on the outside grill/BBQ. A heavy pan, such as cast iron can be used instead with good results. When your beef patty is cooked to your liking, ad your swiss cheese for just long enough to melt.

Sauté your mushrooms and onions in butter.

Toast your bagel.

To build your burger, place the cheese covered beef patty with cheese on your toasted bagel bottom. Pile your sautéed mushrooms and onions on top of that, and top your burger with the bagel top.

You can customize this with some lettuce below the beef patty, and with your favorite condiments, but I like mine the way I described.
