I've just crushed an entire large bulb of garlic to go into the water whilst cooking my chickpeas for the chickpea salad being made today for tomorrow night's tea (and the next 2 nights as well). It adds a little more flavour to the chickpeas whilst they are cooking and does make a difference.Its interesting - there are an infinite number of recipes which use garlic but not so many where it is the dominant ingredient. There is the famous chicken with 40 cloves of garlic, of course and garlic bread, garlic butter.
