Working (software release this weekend), I've got to get two more strings of lights (don't ask...), and wrapping Christmas presents.
Software release - aren’t they fun (insert sarcasm) . Today is my first day off in two weeks as we just upgraded a major system 11/7. So glad we were able to hand off support to normal support channels yesterday vs the escalated support path we had been on previous two weeks.

With that said, today I am baking some cookies, more Christmas decorating and run a few errands. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Good luck TR with the software release.

Last night an alarm on my cell phone dinged in and a normally 80 PSI (5.6 bar) tire on my truck was 33 PSI (2.3 bar) and dropping.
So I headed out this morning and the tire shop ruined the tire while fixing. They then ordered me a new tire, free to me. Pretty cool.

Stopped off to pick up a few Thanksgiving food items at Smart and Final (AKA Fart and Smile) and as I rolled up the store was being evacuated do to an obnoxious smell. I know that distinct smell from the military and I'll spare you my takes on that. Lots of homeless (by choice) in the area.

So headed home and look down the street as I approach and see some commotion across the street from our place. My wife on our side of the street with the dog cued up for the attack.

Girl that lives across the street in another altercation with her ex who once again showed up with a baseball bat and was working over her new Challenger. If the guy turns to hurt anyone then our dog gets involved.

Police rolled in behind me and made another arrest.

So we wipe the slate clean and enjoy what will turn out to be a beautiful (70F/21.1C) day.

House is in strict lockdown the kids are taking online school tests all day long. No music, no noise, no nothing and the wifie is enforcing. So I'll play the Beatles XM channel out in the RV and fix a few items.

This reminds me of when one of our girls was in elementary school.
The whole school went on lockdown for the "Iowas." It's (or was) a test of some sort like the SAT's.
Proctors patrolling the hallways and restrooms with students escorted to and from, observers at each classroom marshalling the tests, officials walking about at the entrances and exits looking both stoic and grim.

When I was a kid at the end of one summer first day of school a new teacher was at the gate sending kids home that were wearing t shirts and blue Jeans. He had a thick german accent and was insulting us as we were sent off.
Then all the phones in the neighborhood starting ringing at our homes. It was the school telling us to report back to school.

We had another new shop teacher with a thick German accent too. He had no clue how things work in the free world either. A real difficult instructor.

So we mentioned it to Mr Curtiss our history teacher. Mr Curtiss served with the 101st Airborne and was dropped into France before D day and managed to survive the war.
"Oh those two new teachers were Hitler Youth" Mr Curtis told us.

Beautiful dog mate, if that had been me I would have let my dogs go and gone for a coffee.
