Plans for today (2019-2022)

I think it's just going to be one of those days today. Don't even get the TdF to watch because it's a rest day.

Hubby's down in the dumps because physio has told him that he's over doing it. He's not making the progress he expected, but we always knew it was going to be a long recovery period, and longer than last time. Last time he had surgery at the start of Feb 2020, so the same time period of recovery was mid April 2020 and I think he's forgotten that he still wasn't driving or walking much at that point then either... guess he's just not used to being sick or injured in reality, so being told to ease back in things has him down in the dumps and that means everyone has to be down in the dumps, lol. So today is 'hard work'.
Always frustrating when progress is slow.. Let's just hope tomorrow will be better then.

Thankfully his mood has improved a bit, but I think that's because he's finally using ice therapy again and has rested it more this afternoon, so he's not hurting as much.

As usual, I did an hour of Amazon web services training. Tiresome at this stage.
Then hopped on the same scooter I used last night, to glide to my fav pub for a cottage pie and a pint of crazy apple juice.

Then a ride home, all for free! because I got smart and bought a 24-hour scooter pass.

I won't cook today, so I'll be coming up with video ideas for tomorrow's vid.

Day Five in the hotel, as our home is being painted both inside and out.
We've got a pretty good thunderstorm that appears to be parked right over us all morning long and doesn't seem to be letting up any time soon. We're situated up against a dell/rock formation/mountain and the thunder sounds very ominous.
So it's a stay-in-your-PJ's kinda day, drink coffee/tea and just relax.

Plans include but are not limited to

Wood collect & chopping (essential to stay warm)
Cooking
Planting some veg seedlings in veg plot
Starting to cut the lawn
Weeding
Repairs to my car (4x4)
House work

I'll try to spread it across today and the weekend but it's a glorious day today. -6.6°C overnight locally and lovely and sunny though still minus figures. 1-3 are essential for today. And whilst I'm not allowed to overdo it, I'm also not allowed to sit down for more than 45 minutes or stand for 45 minutes etc, so I'll be doing lots of starting but not completing things I suspect.

I need to pick up my car at the nearby Audi dealership. It was in for routine maintenance. I've had a loaner car since Thursday. Other than that, just some errands.

Plans for this week:

  • See MIL, which worked out. So happy I saw her, first time since the ICU!
  • Heatproof the house with blinders
  • Do nothing on monday and tuesday, extreme heat and heart condition = noping out of anything but nothing at all
  • See lung specialist on wednesday
  • See rheumatologist on friday
  • Celebrate youngest stepson's birthday on saturday

Yay! Disaster testing was relatively smooth. Now that that’s done, I’ll be going off to the shops for some groceries.

Not planning anything special for food, really, but Saturdays are always my wander-the-shops day.

Don't you find the crowds annoying? I like weekday shopping better when there are fewer people.

There are a couple of places I won’t go on the weekend (unless it’s absolutely necessary), like the big Kroger Marketplace in Centerville. It’ll be packed.

Smaller Krogers in the surrounding towns are much easier to manage.

ALDI is always a ghost town, same as Marc’s, so those are two I usually hit, and the gourmet shop isn’t too bad, as long as I avoid early morning (bakery/coffee) and lunchtime (pizza/grill).

The international market is so big, it’ll hold a ton of people, so it never really feels crowded.

I’ll likely go to ALDI, Marc’s, and swing by a small Kroger somewhere along the way.

That's wild that Aldi and Marc's aren't busy on Saturday. Here they're packed until about 5.
