Plans for today (2023)

It has been a good five years since my last jury duty. They choose 150 people for voir dire. We were not allowed to talk about anything or look anything up about the case when we went home at night. On the morning of the third day, I was eliminated from the jury pool, and immediately went home to look up the defendant. I found out he was a serial rapist who'd already been convicted of two assaults, and this was his third trial. He was convicted in that one, too. :eek:

Maybe you'll get a guy accused of killing someone for coming into his kitchen while he was cooking. I predict a hung jury, with just one holdout.

I really don’t have much of anything to do today besides work, and it’s been a light day so far with that.

I’m roasting a squash later. We have squash once a year, because it’s one of those items that so many people rave about, that I feel like there must be something we’re missing, because no matter how I make it (roasted, soup, mashed, stir fried, etc), it just tastes like crap.

This one is destined for a salad, along with toasted pecans, dried cranberries, and a citrus dressing. Hopes are not high that this’ll change my mind.

We eat pumpkin a lot here. 2 growing atm in the garden.
I'm doing s list of stuff we need at supermarket later. Watching races this afternoon. (Synd bets)
Bottling gerkins I have in brine atm.
About 9 jars already done.

Make breakfast (omelette), groceries, make a sausage challenge entry, going out to the local tavern for a change, watch a movie.
 
Work until 3. Close up shop. Home, change, feed and drain the dog. Head i to the city (about 50 minute drive) to hit up a big shopping centre. I don’t need anything but a relationship is comprmise.😆 then, my reward is a stop at a pub for a fish and chip. We can’t get a decent one around here.
