Plans for today (2024)

Long weekend here too (Family Day is the occasion here in Ontario), so I slept in, and lounged around for a bit under a blanket with the kitty on my lap. I’ll get some breakfast as soon as I manage to peel myself up off the couch.

Yesterday we had friends over, and had a good work day repainting my front hallway. For context, these friends offered to help out; plus, I’ve helped the one half of the couple move 6 times, and helped her repaint her entire condo a few years ago.

Anyway, we taped, did one coat, and walked to the pub for lunch. Then we walked back, did a second coat, admired our work, watched some TV, and ordered pizza for dinner. Great day!

Fed/Bank holiday here (Presidents’ Day), so no work, and I’m coming off Hell Week for on-call, so I think I’m going to dress very nicely, get my hair all combed and my beard all trimmed and…plop my chubby bottom on the sofa and not move for the rest of the day!

What job do you have where you get a bank holiday off? And, why are you up so early on your day off? Go back to bed!

To be fair, I had to go online to flip on-call over to the next person, and do about 30 minutes’ work to set up some after-hours work I have to do Wednesday night, because I didn’t want it to conflict with the after-hours work I have to do Friday night. 😒

My son 'disposed' of a vase that was annoying him in my direction so I stopped off at John Lewis on the way home to pick up some Easter flowers for it.
They aren't 'arranged' yet, just plonked in (which is my style anyway) cos I'm waiting for the chicken wire for the base to arrive.

Got some ivy coming to cover the inside of the vase (hence the sticker markers to ensure even distribution) and then I'll have the most expensive free vase I've ever owned 😂

It's a Provincial Holliday today called Family Day. Ironically, many in the service industry still have to work so families can go to malls, theatres, and ski hills..lol..people have complained since its inception that it wasn't an inclusive Holliday.

We are closed. So it is a domestic chore day. I have the refrigerator cleaned out. Waiting for the shelves to dry so I can put it all back together. Fun times..

He's only just taken down the Xmas tree!
Before the St Patrick's tree, he needs to put up (a) the Epiphany tree (b) the Mardi Gras tree (c) the Lava-tory:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:
He missed the mardi gras tree. Although he'd just have needed to take off the gold and purple to transform for St Patty's.
