Plans for today (2025)

No I haven't read it and I don't buy it. My 10+ years in rehabilitative massage tells me otherwise. I'll Google just for the hell of it though.

Edit: well i read it and I'd agree on the common sense part of it in not overdoing the ice to avoid tissue damage (duh) and using good judgment on how long to treat it (I do 24-48 hours intermittently), or what types of injuries, how badly the area is injured, etc. Eventually I'll do contrast applications alternating heat and ice to flush out toxins but we're a ways to go on that (several days or a week).

Maybe I should have put this in the caregiver's chat.
I've not seen anything about icing and tissue damage other than the usual instructions.
Most of the worthwhile research I was sent is more about icing impeding the bodies natural inflammatory responses by reducing blood flow.

Tbh I haven't read much about it I was at the tail end of offering Rugby pitch sideline first aid and honestly had really had enough of the cabillion changes. If you asked an injured rugby player if they want ice the answer is generally YES, GET THE F*** ON WITH IT 😆

Plans, what plans? Supposed to have left an hour ago, instead we're in Burger King having a farewell Burger 😆
Cheers, mate.

I saw that, which is why I never suggested 72 hours like some sources do. I gauged it on the extent of the injury. My husband's ankle was swollen 3-4x the size of what it was before. There wasn't much blood flowing through that I'd think. Also, last night was the constant icing 20 minutes on, 30 minutes off. Today it's every few hours. It's still very swollen but not quite as bad. Also, it's both medial and lateral, though mostly lateral. Generally it's one or the other but not both at the same time. Which is why he needs to go get it checked but still refuses to do so.

Got up and Pippi and I went to a local owned grocery store for an avocado and smoked pork. Going to make sauce with the avocado and Pippi likes the pork. Finished trimming the grass around the water meter, mailbox, and wiped out some anthills. Made some beans for breakfast tomorrow and still have to vacuum. Garlic is growing flower shoots so trimmed those off.

We certainly slipped into Spanish time today.
Started readying ourselves to leave at about 11.30am and made it to our destination at 8.40pm.
If you also know it was only a 2hr 20mins ride it's impressive even by our standards 😂

We are!
But Mr SSOAP had shoulder surgery not long ago so I've carefully planned the ride n split it up to allow him to get him back in the swing of it and allow plenty of down time for rest and recovery 👍
Good idea! I remember you mentioning that.

Is the slushy machine in his panier, with a lock? 😁

Sitting in a restaurant right now, then to a plant/flower sale, then groceries.

I swear, MrsT is in a mood - we’ve been up less than 90 minutes and have had six arguments so far…and I started exactly zero of them.

JAS_OH1 - let us know how your hubby is doing. I’m hoping it’s just a sprain.

Women in some cases have days like that.
