Plans for today (2025)

I was thinking of going out for some sushi today, but it's now 2pm, so I'm going to leave it for another day.
I'll just chill out and watch some football; ie. watch my team lose again.
Oh, sushi sounds soooo good! I might have to go get some sushi takeout for my birthday! But our sushi restaurant is open until 9 pm, yours isn't open late?

Yes, it's open till 9 or 10pm, but I just remembered I'd taken out some prawns/shrimp last night for the recipe challenge, so I think I'll do those today, and the sushi tomorrow. Seafood 2 days running - YAY!!

For the record, I found the source of her pissy behavior - not only has she not lost the eight pounds she put on over the holidays, but she’s added another two pounds…which she is blaming on the afternoon tea (and the leftovers) we had at Easter.

I suspect my wife has done the same, but I dare not ask. On a diet but eats chocolate but a smaller block.lol.
It's a subject to be careful around.

Yeah, torn ligaments are a doozy. I don't know what's up with the knee, but that ankle def has torn ligaments. I've never seen such a bad sprain. It's still 3x the size it was.

Well he used to heal fast when he was young but he doesn't quite realize that 57 is not the new 25. He could heal in a week or 2 back then but that ship has sailed I am afraid.
Some people may remember that I busted my ankle a couple years ago while participating in an extreme sport known as “walking”

I know you know this, but yeah he needs to get it x-rayed to rule out a fracture. I got up and walked back home on my busted ankle, insisted I was fine, iced it, and then couldn’t walk the next morning. The tip of my fibula had been snapped clean off.

I was in my late 30s at the time - I ended up on crutches non-weight bearing for 10 weeks, in a boot for an additional 6 weeks. I broke it in September and I think I finally started walking unassisted (no boot or crutches) sometime around February.

Here’s what the swelling looked like 2 days post-injury.

I need to work today, but it’s gonna be a tough one.

Thursday night we saw Metallica, got home after 1 am.
Saturday night we saw Metallica again. Got home after 1 am.
Sunday we had to get up early and drive my kitty to a different city, to get her a special treatment for her hyperthyroid. On the way back, we had to stop and switch drivers - I was so exhausted I didn’t think it was a good idea for me to be behind the wheel and I was developing a migraine.
Last night I didn’t sleep well, the treatment my kitty had literally makes your cat radioactive so she’s not allowed to sleep on the bed with us for the next week. She sat outside the bedroom door crying and clawing to be let in.

I forsee a lot of coffee in my future…

Work day and both pollen and UV are high so benadryl, sunscreen, hat, and gloves after I get to work.
Benadryl makes me sleepy. Have you tried loratadine? It doesn't cross the blood-brain barrier so won't make you drowsy. It says on the benadryl box to not operate heavy machinery...

I normally am not a procrastinator, but...

So my driver's license expires on my birthday (soon), and I need to get the new "Real ID" so I can fly domestically. I called the BMV to find out what documents I will need. My passport expired and I didn't renew it yet since I hadn't planned on flying internationally anytime soon, so I thought that my SS card, my current DL, and 2 pieces of mail (such as bank or credit card statement) showing my name and address on them would be sufficient (according to the document list on their website), but I called just to double check before going down there. Well I was wrong. I need my birth certificate as well. I thought it was in my desk drawer with my expired passport, but I was wrong about that, too. I looked in a few other places and it wasn't there, either. I ended up having to go to the state of my birth's website and order a certified copy. It's going to take 20-25 days and cost me $43. And that's supposed to be the expedited fee. It was only $10 for the certificate, $13 for the processing fee, and $20 for the UPS delivery fee. I went ahead and ordered it, though. I'll probably find my birth certificate before the new one arrives, but I can't remember if it's a certified birth certificate or just a copy, so I am okay with paying for the new one. I could have risked sending them a check or money order in the mail and it would have only been $10 plus postage, but it's a risk to use USPS for a document this important. And if I had sent it snail mail, it might not arrive for a few months. Or not at all.

I can drive for a month with my current license and I am not flying anywhere until probably the fall. I just have to go get an e-check for my vehicle and get my tags renewed. I might as well go ahead and send off for my new passport next week just so I have it, though I think we won't be leaving the country until you-know-who is no longer in office.
Just a heads up, when I got the Real ID a few years ago, I also had to have a copy of my marriage license in addition to everything you listed above - current last name being different than last name on birth certificate. It's a crap shoot with documents required.
