Ingredients
Bread stick
Peeled large prawns
Garlic cloves, sliced
Butter
Lettuce leaves
Tomatoes, sliced
Sliced prosciutto ham
Optional Marie Rose sauce:
Method
Melt the butter in a small fry pan with the sliced garlic. Pan fry the prawns in the butter for around 90 seconds each side. Allow to cool.
Cut the bread stick longitudinally or crosswise into 25mm thick slices. Lightly toast one side and spread with a little butter.
Cut or tear the lettuce leaves to match the size of the bread slices. Add two leaves to each bread slice.
Place one slice of tomato onto the lettuce of each bread slice. Fold the prosciutto ham to match the size of the bread slices and place on top of the tomato slice. Add one cooked prawn on top of the prosciutto. Spear with a toothpick.
Marie Rose sauce: Mix the mayonnaise with a little tomato puree and a few dashes of tabasco. Spoon a dollop of the sauce onto each prawn and sprinkle with a little paprika powder.
