But as you said, that´s the whole point - queueing. It´s a really odd , almost obsessive compulsion to wait your turn, be polite, be stubborn, be patient, show stoicism, etc., etc.Consensus at work is that it should have been possible to set up a registration centre in say Hyde Park where you turned up and were given a wristband with a time on it to turn up at Westminster. No need to queue for hours.
I once queued for 13 hours in the Soviet Socialist Republic of Venezuela to vote in Presidential "elections". 4.30 am until 5.30 pm . The military and the Electoral authorities deliberately delayed the opening of voting stations in areas considered "opposition". Queuing is not a pleasant thing for that length of time, so for those who are prepared to queue for 20-30 hours, good luck to them!
