It sounds like your problem will be solved easily enough. But wouldn't a coffee grinder make the sugar taste like coffee?

Just run it with a small quantity of rice through it first. (1-2tbsp)

The cacao butter that was in the burrs, I didn't know, bound to the coffee trying to go through and it burned up the motor. Took about a second.

Trash one nice stainless steel burr grinder. I had to get a much cheaper one since my income level has changed but I'll never forget...
