Spaghetti science

Yep I’m going to go and find some spaghetti! 😂

We had it last night. And I did not twirl it, lol, I cut it wtih my fork. Honestly I have often thought that twirling gets 2 utenisls dirty instead of one, so why bother?
I don’t mind a bit of twirling if the pasta has been broken into shorter half length strands but mostly I cut it because the twirling method seem to make forkfuls that are too big for my mouth… some might find that hard to believe 😂

But thats normal isn't it?
It's either knife and fork, or spoon and fork.
Only soup is with just a spoon

I am with you. My DH is the one with the larger mouth, though he doesn't really talk much. When we have soup he gets a big spoon and I always use a small one.

Ah well, different upbringing, I suppose
Rice - spoon and fork
Pasta - spoon and fork
Soup - spoon
(almost) all else - knife and fork
Yes, if I was setting a table, with other people dining with us. But if it's just me and my husband, there is no need for me to have to wash additional eating utensils, so...

Rice - fork, unless it's an Asian dish, then I use chopsticks
Pasta - fork
Noodles in an Asian dish - chopsticks
Soup - (obviously) spoon
Most other things -- knife and fork

As kids we had long spaghetti with bolognese sauce at home we had to learn to eat it tidy (not eating food tidy was not an option 😶)
If eating pasta I just twirl the fork against the base of the plate / side of the bowl, no spoon required.

That's clever enough!

I've been cutting my long sheets of pasta dough in half lately after rolling before running through the cutter just so I have shorter noodles and don't have to break them up later before cooking...though that's not difficult after they've been frozen.

Ah that really hit the spot. A very large chunk of butter, parsley, garlic and smoked sea salt.

For me I would be adding the freshly grated parm, but I understand why you didn't. Do hard cheesea like that have as much lactose as other dairy?

I considered Parmesan but I only have the vegan version and it’s not one that can stand on its own so I went with the smoked sea salt instead.
Real Parmesan has very little lactose in it. It’s surprisingly variable what cheese has lots of lactose in it and what doesn’t. Hard cheeses are low but so is Brie, Camembert and feta.
