The CookingBites Recipe Challenge: Honey

I do this a lot in cooking challenges: I post a picture late at night, and then I post the completed recipe later, usually the next day. In this case, “later” is going to be very very late, because I’m in the hospital now (with my daughter).
Dear God, I hope she is alright. How old is she?

Well, crap. Never mind about my recipe, then, since I missed the deadline. It’s still Wednesday here, but I know we’re a global site. A shame, since it was done and sitting in my fridge.

My daughter has stomach problems. The doctors can’t find anything wrong with her internally. This will probably mean an appointment with a specialist at another time. Sorry...I don’t want to turn this into a discussion about this. :(

I'm more than happy to extend the deadline until tomorrow Oz time. It's currently 6.30pm Thursday here. Say 9.00am tomorrow my time. Unless anyone has any objections.

Sorry to hear about your daughter mate. Hope she's better soon.

Hi everyone. Was just trying to work out the end time in my time zone here, when I noticed the countdown clock has ticked over to zero. I will go through all the recipes again and get back to you a bit later.

There are still a few hours to go - the countdown clock shows this:

32607

But you can extend it - I'm just trying to work out what time 9.00 am tomorrow in Australia is in GMT!

...far as I can work out that would be 2.30 am on Friday morning GMT time. The easiest option would be to extend the deadline to midday tomorrow (GMT). That would give a 24 hour extension. Would that be OK murphyscreek ?

that would be great for me because I may be able to make some baclava (vegan) in that time!

Until the 6th October we are 9 hours ahead of you (I'm always in the future...) so 9am would actually be midnight :whistling: however if you do something like this (what time is it now in the UK? - Bing) a search engine will tell you!

I'm obviously totally confused. I though Australia had several different time zones. I was calculating on what murphyscreek said the time was for him when he posted half an hour ago - i.e. 6.30 pm

So if you are 9 hours ahead then when it is 9 am for you it is midnight in the UK.

Well, we are 3 hours behind the east coast of Australia and 1 hour behind the west coast.
this is exactly why I have installed the new add-on which tells members what the local time is of another member...
New feature - Member's Local Time

PS morning glory It's now 7:53pm for the east coast of Australia... yes it has multiple time zones, and some are half hour offsets as well and just to confuse matter even more, some states observe daylight saving and some don't and whilst a state can be on the same time zone with your state in winter, it is not necessarily in the same time zone as you in summer... try keeping up with this Time zones and daylight saving | australia.gov.au and in my state (NSW) there is a town (Broken Hill) that is 1/2 hour offset from the rest of the state and the state due north of us (Queensland) does not observe Daylight Saving, whilst NSW does. I have an app on my phone that tells me what time it is for the UK and what time it is for wherever my husband is in Australia. All it doesn't yet tell me is where my husband actually is in Australia...

I understand that there is an Island in the Pacific somewhere that is 15 minutes behind or ahead of some countries. However, I doubt the general population even care (or are participants in the cookingbitesrecipechallenge).

[Edit: Or is that Katmandu?]
