Do you know if it can be used on induction hobs? I've read reviews where people were using it to clean hard to remove stains from ceramic hobs, including white stains (years ago I had a vitroceramic hob that had some weird white stains and I could never remove them). I'm getting an induction hob on my new house and I'm a messy cook. I'm anticipating I may need a hard duty cleaning product at some point.

I have a ceramic cooktop (hob), and BKF is okay on that. Use a very wet sponge to apply it and scrub. Since induction cooktops don't get hot, you shouldn't have the burnt-on stains that you get with a normal ceramic cooktop. You shouldn't need anything as abrasive as BKF. Always use the most gentle cleaning method you can that works.

29F/-2C (windchill is 18F/-8C) right now. Sleet outside, sounds like we’re living in a giant baby rattle. Waiting for the snow to move in later today.

Thank you! Hopefully it will be easy enough to clean with Cif, but I know some people who got weird stains on their induction hobs.

Our sleet was supposed to change to snow by now, but it is still sleeting.

The oak tree in my backyard is laying on my garage roof from all the weight of the ice.

The only problem I have with my regular ceramic cooktop is when pots boil over, and stuff burns onto the ceramic surface. But, ceramic is VERY hard, and difficult to scratch, so it can take abrasives. I have even used my car buffer and car polish to clean it before.

You'll just have to see what the surface of your induction cooktop/hob is made of, and I'm sure the owner's manual will tell you what to clean it with.

BTW, an induction cooktop is on my kitchen wish list. I can afford one, but I am hesitant to spend money to replace a cooktop that still works. Basically, I'm cheap.

I'm not super excited about induction but my new house isn't connect to the gas pipelines and the gas bottles take up an entire kitchen cabinet which is useful space for me, so I decided to make the house all electric. The induction hob looks gorgeous when it's all shiny and clean and I plan to keep it that way. I had a vitroceramic hob that was a nightmare to clean and that got all stained, I want to make sure I'm not making the same mistakes with the induction hob.

I don't think so. Like I said, an induction cooktop/hob doesn't get hot, like a standard electric ceramic cooktop. Plus, induction cooktops are very responsive, like gas cooktops. They are also the most energy efficient option for cooking.

The weather gods are still having fun at our expense. I'm going to light to fire at this rate!
Seriously 6.7°C in the middle of an Australian summer. The same one that's seen the all time Australian record temperature of 50.7°C equaled.

Well, scientists keep telling us weather is going to get more and more extreme. But, what do scientists know?

I know why the Brits and Irish felt so at home in this part of Aus. This is more like a British summer! Winter is usually about this, but at least I can actually light the fire in winter! (No wood in yet...)

I cheat. I have gas logs. Turn a handle, light a match. Instant fire.
