34 degree Celsius here in Berlin. Doing some kind of lazy workout in the park under full sun
That’s awful! How long are you expected to be there, and what’s ahead for you as far as treatment goes?Okay.. I am in the ICU.. all my vague problems turned out to be my fourth incidence of pulmonary embolisms and this is my second saddle embolism.. guinness book of records anyone?
Second time I walked around with a saddle embolism for 2 months before being diagnosed!
I fainted today after shopping, and again after shouting for my husband from the floor..
I guess the good news is that I am probably not rheumatic. The swelling and pain in my limbs was due to oxygen loss
My prognosis is relatively good, have been stable at 130 bpm and 100% saturation as long as I do nothing. Goes up to 145 for the slightest movement though. I should be able to go off the icu in 24 hrs, but then I have to stay for testing because they now suspect I have a chronic clotting disorder. After all this is the 4th time , and I always have saddle embolisms or multiple pulmonary embolisms at the same time.. even on these meds .That’s awful! How long are you expected to be there, and what’s ahead for you as far as treatment goes?
I hope you’re feeling better as soon as possible.

Oh dear how awful! You definitely know how it feels the fainting thing, ugh I hope that never happens again. Fingers crossed for you too!I feel for you.
I'm also glad that you have a possible diagnosis to prevent it happening again though.
Sadly I've been there. I had to discharge myself from a rehab hospital who had decided I was a lazy, fat overweight asthmatic needing a CPAP to sleep (I don't need a CPAP and don't have sleep apnea but they had it in their heads that I did) etc....
I collapsed at home after bending over to pick up something off the ground. My asthma specialist, at a loss just ordered a whole load of tests... no one thought it was serious until during the tests the radiologist started asking questions during the tests... 3 PEs affecting both lungs, all the usual places that I get chest infections etc.
I ended up injecting massive amounts of clexane twice readily for 6 months. I hated that basically all they can do is make you blood thinner to get around the clot and wait for your body to deal with it but they were talking about putting me on a filter at one point to catch the clots in the body.... I wasn't that keen on the idea of another lengthy stay in hospital. I found ICU boring as anything but also once I was a little more with it quite interesting watching the patterns.
My thoughts are with you. Please stay in touch and keep us up-to-date on your progress.
Working on it. I seem to be good at survival! Staying positive hereGet well soon Windigo

I'm barely sleeping at all, just had a mere 2 hrs. It's always like that in hospital for me. It's 02.00 here now, hopefully getting a bit more rest. Otherwise doing very good for a saddle PE, stable bpm between 120 and 110 and blood pressure normal .
I wish you better. I was in Resus last week with atrial fibrillation at 4 am in the morning. Luckily my son answered the phone and was able to come to the house to look after my partner (who has dementia) when I was rushed in. I was surprised. Who has their phone on at 4 am in the morning? I should say that this heart thing has happened to me many times. They pump me with drugs or do electro cardio version and, in the past, kept me in overnight for observation. Now they send me home as soon as my heart rate is normal due to bed shortages, I suppose.I'm barely sleeping at all, just had a mere 2 hrs. It's always like that in hospital for me. I get that, but you're welcome anytimeIt was all too sudden and I wanted to get back to normal at the time. I sometimes find it difficult to share bad things...
