Took my watch in to get a battery but they said the movement in it needed replacing, 14 yo present from my kids on my 50th. Just under $200 to fix it. Spotted one new for $150. Nice pulsar and not too flashy, I don't do jewellery. I just noticed on the back it's a chinese movement. Then had to pick up my s8 phone that was cracked. $105 later, every day is costing me more and more.

Just quietly I have a similar one. Built by previous owner.

My original "builder's grade" fences only lasted about 8-10 years. I rebuilt them with galvanized steel posts and hardware, and with all cedar lumber. The steel posts are the most important thing, because they will last longer than I do. I don't know why more fences don't use steel posts, as they are not a lot more expensive than pressure treated pine posts, which is what most fences here use.

My side gate fence post fell off recently, rotted at the base, I need too dig rest out and put a new one I have waiting.

Replace that post with a galvanized steel post, and you will never replace it again. This is how I built my fences. The photo is not of my fence, because you can't see the posts from inside my yard. But, mine are just like this.

its just a side gate about 12 ft across, the post is/ was attached to other wooden fence. This new one will outlast me. Plus it's easier.
I like the look of that one btw.

Cool. AstraZeneca? Did they schedule your second jab?

CD
Pfizer-BioNTech. The second jab is in early July.

Finland gives AstraZeneca only to people over 60. Some European countries have banned the AZ vaccine as there is a similar minimal risk of rare vascular issues for younger people (especially women) like in the Johnson & J's case. If you're under 60 and have had AZ at first, they give Pfizer-B or Moderna for the second jab. That seems a bit odd as they've not really studied how different vaccines crosstalk.

I think they're too wary as to the rare side effects, considering that quite many people die annually because of contraceptive pill, painkiller, alcohol or smoking related vascular issues - and acute vascular events happen to some people regardless of external influence.

Of course there's a difference between voluntary and "semi-compulsory" pandemic-related operations but to be coherent, they should ban all aforementioned substances (and over-eating/gluttony) in addition to AZ and J & J vaccines and command people to stay at home permanently and keep exercising in a sitting or laying positing, as stumbling, falling, beer, reckless driving, hazardous weather, hang gliding and mountaineering kill more people annually than the extremely rare sinister side effects of AZ or J & J vaccines - or Spu__ik (I don't want FSB on my doorstep :D).

Wow, that is a long time between doses of Pfizer vaccine. Pfizer recommends 3 weeks, Moderna 4 weeks. I don't recall the AZ recommended spacing.

Doing one dose of AZ and a second dose of Pfizer or Moderna sounds pretty risky, to me. They use very different bio-technologies.

Yes, it's a long time. Our government states that "in the current epidemic situation, the dose interval is currently extended to 12 weeks" (or more). Because of manufacturing and delivery issues, not having our own vaccine production and being a small target market and economy, hooking up with other EU countries in the ordering process hasn't helped much. We just don't get enough vaccines to put up with the recommended speed. Apparently the effect isn't worse if it takes longer to get the second jab; the space in between is just a bit more risky. Finland is very up-to-date in medicine and health care, so I'm confident that they've cross-checked the "changing vaccine" issue in some medical sense albeit the vaccines use different bio-tech.

Yes, I have heard that to be the way here too.
None of the epidemiologists reacted to the cross-mixing of vaccs negatively so far, as far I have read/heard of.
