Morning all
Apologies for the prolonged absence, life’s been doing what life can do to you and has been leaving me no room for manoeuvre or much sleep!
Anyway as I sit here over 100 miles from home waiting for the estate agents to come and value my mums house I realise that this might be the last run I have to do here for a while so why not risk saying Hi 👋 now?

Sorry if I’m behind on peoples news and ask daft questions.
I’ve thought of you all and how you’re doing many times, especially if there’s been a tasty morsel or an interesting food article.

Hopefully I’ll be back to contributing proper styley soon!

I'm sure she will chime in with further details, but from what I know her mum has been having memory issues for quite some time (she posted about that awhile back) and is now in a care facility.
 
Well damn it all!
Our hotel room bathroom door lock keeps locking all by its self!
AND I had to go, NOW!
Called to the front desk and the nice young gal said "...that happens alot, for no reason that they can figure out, I have a tool to unlock it for you, I'll be right up."
So her tool: a screw driver

I thought about after like the 10 millionth time I found the lock engaged as I went in ...

My brothers were desperate for me to please come back into the mix and help get my mum into a dementia care home and to sell her house to pay for it all.
It has taken a lot of time and work (she lives 130 miles away from me) but as JAS_OH1 said 👍 she is now safe in a good care home.
Her house was in a truly disgusting stinking state but is now ready to go on the market.

It’s all been made 10 times harder by the three children from my mums partners previous marriages constantly keeping on wanting to know where the money is, how much does she have, wanting to stop the sale of the house and treating us with suspicion (asking how we will be monitored, how long mums going to live, what their “inheritance’ will look like” etc).

There’s still a long way to go but I think perhaps some of the harder more time consuming things are done.
I know this because I’ve started reading recipes and thinking about cooking again 😊 👏 👏 👏

I’m sorry you’re going through that (or have gone through that, though it does creep back up like whack-a-mole), seems like there are one (or three) in every family, and it doesn’t matter if you’re richer than Croesus or if you don’t have a pot to pizz in…someone will be fighting over that pot.

Hang in there. Glad to hear your mum is in a good place.
