,I know a couple of mid wives ,when I see them next I'll broach the subject,but it's something I could not just blurt out ,hi how's it going,do any of your ladies fry up the placenta....

You have given me something to raise with my mother there - she was a midwife for a long time (+20 years) and specialised in home deliveries. I can ask her.... well, at least when I get my voice back I can!
