What’s going on in your garden (2025)?

No clue as to why I was buying mulch last year at Home Depot. :banghead:

I'm sitting in the middle of the woods with fields... Gathered up a bunch more for the garden perimeter; I *hate* weeds. Found a new burn barrel in the gully too.

Some bits from the garden...

The grape vine is doing well. But I'm going to have to cover it over before long. Once the boys find the grapes they'll be gone in a day and my chooks are doing the jack in the box jumping act to reach some of them as well

The courgettes are struggling with no train since 8th December and it shows. I'll have to give them a good drink on the morning. The beans are struggling as well, but that is mostly because I eat them before they get to the kitchen.

They may go as snake beans, or maybe even kousenband
Bean 'Snake' Yard Long'(Organic)

I can get them. But will have to wait until winter for them. Then hang on to them until December/ start of summer to sow them. We're actually in the cool climate zone. I struggle to get lots of things to germinate here. I really need a greenhouse or cold frame for that.

Okay,
Yeah, I know remember your big day to night temperature changes...
They may not work for you.
They are funny things though. 10 beans can make a meal for 1 :)
In the real heat they get shorter, but in their favourite season the are 50-60 cm's

Both my parents and maternal grandparents had Concord grapes on the vine - forget the birds and the chickens…they had to chase me out of there. I’d eat them all.

Both Mom and Grandmom used the grapes for canned juice mainly. Really good stuff!

These have a great flavour to them when ripe. It's not the supermarket grape flavour. Much more complex than that. But they also have seeds. They'll need to ripen first though. Very sour right now
