Last night was Chicken Cacciatore. The local Penn Dutch had chicken leg quarters on sale for .39 per pound. I just separated 4 thighs from the drum sticks. I made the sauce sweet and spicy, just the way I like it for this dish.

2 tsp Tamarind Puree
2 tsp Light Soy
2 tsp Honey.
tsp Sesame Oil
Cucumber
250g Vermicelli Rice Noodles
1 Chili
3 Spring Onions

That looks fab @Wyshiepoo. I note the courgette (zucchini) ribbons (see @detroitdad's query in Toasted Saffron Pasta Primavera) and the delicious glaze on that duck.

I'm still not on cooking form due to bad back issues so not much to report unless you count oven chips, frozen cod in batter and peas. I did manage to make some bread yesterday based on Pain au sarrasin by @Wandering Bob. Photos to follow.

There's a restaurant in NOLA called Johnny Sanchez, which is a collaboration between Aaron Sanchez and John Besh. One of their signature items is a meatball taco. The meatballs have roasted poblano peppers, onion and garlic puree plus cotija cheese, as well as some other things. I came up with a copycat version. We had that with an avocado salad tonight.

I took my daughter out for lunch yesterday after we spent the morning working at the Farmers Markets - American BBQ is all the rage here now but THE must go place doesn’t do lunch so we went to a lovely cafe my work gets to cater our morning teas.

Very pretty cup of coffee.

Crispy pork belly, kewpie dressed slaw & kecap manis.


Bhudda bowl - turmeric & coriander spiced brown rice, mixed leaves, red cabbage & sprouts, golden beetroot, edamame, avocado and a paste/dressing of turmeric, konbucha, pumpkin seeds, ginger & dates + smoked salmon. Massive meal.

Daughter had a lychee mimosa.
