Sorry to hear about the loss of a chick ..

thank you. It's not one from the competition, but from another hen. Still it was a real shame. But it happens. Luckily the 3 remaining chicks seem to have been adopted by all of the flock and no-one is nasty or vicious towards them. I'll have to monitor the situation carefully once I put the next lot into the flock (the ones from the competition) and the 5 that I am handraising. its all fun and games with the chickens.

Wednesday night's dinner was soup - onions, leek, carrots, kale and tomatoes with garlic and black pepper, in a mugful of water - plus a large chunk of freshly made bread.

The pizza on the mesh tray went to ratshit yesterday so I ordered a carry oot khow pad gai (chicken fried rice) with one of our own fried duck eggs.
