The September thread is here: What did you cook or eat today (September 2020)?
My goodness, I am salivating looking at that.
Horseshoe gammon - raw.
Horseshoe gammon grilled with potatoes and cauliflower, fried egg and English mustard.
I discovered the reason why we didn't buy eggs last week - the store didn't have duck eggs. They still didn't have duck eggs yesterday so that is a chicken egg.
The last of the pork and sauerkraut tonight.
Direct quote from MrsTasty:
(Big forkful of food) "God, I could eat this sh!t every night!"
We were watching "Upstairs, Downstairs" (the original run) last night, and it's to the point where they're halfway through WW1, so there are some shortages, and Mrs. Bridges (the cook for the Bellamy family) bemoans that she's been reduced to serving rissoles!I'm like that with a few foods I grew up with. I make rissoles up everyone now and then. Sausage patties basically. But even better cold. I can't stop, eating them until they are gone. Wife's the same. She takes to her work so you have to be quick around here.

Try this one pot wonder, if you can't get ferment Balkan cabbage rinse the inferior Sauerkraut. Put a thick layer on the base of your slow cooker. Add some strong Kokos (boiling fowl) stock. Lay a sheet of smoked ribs on top. Give it 8 hrs on low, serve onThe last of the pork and sauerkraut tonight.
Russ mate, because we were "Jews" we had very few school friends. My Dad went to his office at 07.30 and returned at 20.00. We were very well provided for. The first time I was invited to my mate Oozo's house was for "tea" on Sunday after they had returned from chapel. The cultural divide was opened when his lovely Mum asked me are Jews allowed to eat Salmon ? I replied oh yes ! is it Scottish or from the river Dee. She replied it's John West. I had never had tinned Salmon or knew what it was. It was my first lesson in how privileged we were.Russ

It's called running away from your responsibilities until I met Mrs Blank 20+ years ago. I actually have no regrets about life before Mrs Blank. You certainly had a colourful life.
