What did you cook or eat today (August 2021)?

I’ve been watching “High on the Hog” on Netflix which inspired me to make Mac & cheese - the pasta is cooked in 50:50 milk & water.

I added bacon because I like it. The second dish of pasta is a tomato base because my partner isn’t keen on cheese so a less cheesy version for him.
Also BBQ chicken wings & fried drumsticks.

We were both hungry, so plenty of veg and fibre and some protein..

Pan fried mushroom steaks, oven baked Brussel sprouts with balsamic vinegar, oven baked gnocchi, the remains of an onion baked and the mushroom stalks also baked, plus vegan Vietnamese egg loaf.

The mushroom steak was delicious, such to the point that a certain husband of mine is scraping the pan out with a slice of bread.
