What did you cook or eat today (June 2024) Chit Chat

I’m beginning to think that boon docks and boonies isn’t the fun it sounds like?! 😂
Have you ever watched a movie called "The Boondock Saints"? That's pretty fun.

Seriously though, I think the boonies are entertaining if you like hay rides, horseback riding, corn mazes (in fall), etc.

No but now I’ve looked up the meaning I think having grown up around carrot crunchers I’d probably be able to fit in 😂

Yep, several within 20 of mine. But I live in a noisier more populated area than you do so it takes a drive to get out to the farmlands.
I’d hate to think how many are in Clinton County. It’s Children of the Corn country around here.

I know of two places within 20 minutes where I can get caul. The place where I got it, I’ve mentioned before, because the first thing you see when you walk in is a giant sign on the wall that says “BULL SEMEN FOR SALE!!!” - “Caul won’t be a problem then, will it?”

That movie frightened me as a child.

But you could make your own faggots then.

Yes the Amish are a source of documentaries and fascination here. The hairy bikers route 66 takes them there and so I put it on the list 👍
They are a source of fascination even here! I only have to drive 30 minutes in practically any direction to find an Amish community!

I posted this awhile back of a horse and buggy (the owners were inside the store) parked in front of a Dollar General store that has both spaces for cars and spaces designated for buggies.

Yes, quite fascinating, the Amish culture. I remember watching a documentary on youtube.
Edited to add, I have only now discovered the chit chat thread. Good idea!

There’s no way you’d find a strip club at a retail park like that here though
After spending about a year in my home town back in 2022, wandering around the town in utter disgust at how the council had abandoned the High St, allowed pawnbrokers and grubby casinos into the pedestrian areas, a strip club wouldn't surprise me one bit:ninja:

I do know that there used to be 'opportunities for men' which weren't strip clubs in Union Street.

In fact there is a strip club in High Street 'Players Gentlemen's Club' at 57 High Street:
