Uggh! Another one.I put the lettuce on the bottom to work as a barrier to the meat juices, so the bottom bun doesn't get soggy and fall apart. Tastes the same either way, to me.

Although I like a medium-rare steak, I like my burgers at least medium well. It is not because of bacteria, but texture. A medium rare burger is "mushy" to me.
