What did you cook or eat today (March 2023)?

I've never eaten at a Tony Romas, but I love onion rings...and if medtran49 likes it I bet it's good!

My ribs are almost done.

It's been a very long time since we ate at a Tony Roma's.

The problem I had when trying to make them at home was trying to find a fry basket that would fit in a home fryer or saucepan that didn't cost $$ because you had to buy at a restaurant supply. You have to fry them in a basket that has the shape and volume of what you want because they won't "loaf" otherwise.

Took a trip to our local "East European" supermarket to buy some Bulgarian sheep´s cheese (absolutely phenomenal), some pita bread and some frozen falafel, with the idea of doing something vaguely Lebanese. Stopped by at the pub for a pint or two. Wife arrived and said" OOOHHHH! The Oriental supermarket next door has got these lovely potstickers (Gyoza) and I found some spring rolls with just vegetables!"
Change of plans: last night was gyozas and spring rolls, today is Lebanese!

Evening.

Last night we had chilli - no pics

Today I’ve been cooking all day. Need to stock the freezer.

Zucchini soup (search Neil Perry)
Chicken cacciatore for pasta sauce
Chicken coconut lentil curry

Then I made a bunch of banchan & some japchae to go with hotteok for dinner.

See next post.

Korean cucumber salad
Vegetable japchae
Sesame broccoli
Bulgogi roasted mushrooms
Home made kimchi
Freshly cut pineapple

The hotteok were savoury. 6 filled with lup cheong & walnuts, 2 with cheese & corn.
