I had some home made cinnamon apple beignets also made fried bananas for tonight

I was going to post the pikelets and put evening meal, salad with homemade frittata. But moving my microSD card over to the new phone caused a "you need to format the card before it can be used" message and returning it to the old phone caused an "insert card" message when it was inserted.

Better luck next year i guess.

Had to make some chicken soup. It was the only thing that felt like it would hit the mark.

And by chicken soup I mean the rest of the turkey and some ham soup, worked though.

Oh man those look good. They are just begging to be dipped in some hot apple cider, followed by a night spent in the bathroom.

Homemade Dutch vegetable soup with chilli oil

Devilled eggs with curry and sriracha

Mini satay

Garlic butter, cheese, and crab salad with bread from the deli

Crab bao from the Chinese store

We'll eat healthy food again in 2025!

Doesn’t look like much, but it was excellent:

I had two yolks leftover from yesterday, so I made an extra-rich omelette, filled with tomato, green onion, and at the last minute, some of that herbed cream cheese I stirred up yesterday.

Here any old pizza that just cheese and tomato is considered a margarita.
If it has more than one type of cheese on it then it’s generally claimed loudly in the description as if that makes it superior in some way

We have that too when some people get it without sauce, but generally that's just cheesy bread!

Most places here make a Margherita with no sauce, just some oil on the crust, sometimes with garlic, fresh mozzarella, slices of tomato, and fresh basil. A few places use just sauce, some with sauce and tomatoes, and 1 place makes an Italian tomato relish. My preference is no sauce, just some garlic oil, fresh mozzarella, thin slices of tomato and fresh basil after the pie comes out of the oven.

Dinner last night was crispelle al forno and a simple side salad. No picture as I was hurting and I made the mistake of eating a dish that had a tremendous amount of soy sauce a couple of days ago and have been paying the price since.

Cuban sandwich, with sides of black beans and rice, plantain chips with dipping sauces of mojo and a creamy cilantro for me. Craig had same sides plus yuca with mojo, ropa viejo for a main. He also had beef empanadas for a mid afternoon snack.
