Yep - the same thing really - its a greengage in the UK but basically the same.

So what are the bits on top and the white parts?

OK, you are right, I HAVE seen those before but zoomed in like that it looked more like a filling or sphere to me.

The word ' greengage ' has been added to my vocabulary.

If anything greengages are less sweet to some extent because they also have a tartness a bit like rhubarb. Delicious!
