I've just picked this up. It came highly recommended so I'll have a try of it tonight.

Rye, like bourbon, is a type of American whiskey. Rye whiskies use a minimum of 51% rye grain in their mash, while bourbon requires the mash bill to contain a majority of corn. This means rye whiskies tend to be less sweet than bourbon, and are generally said to have more of a spicy or fruity flavor
Thanks for that!

I've had a few Speyside scotches before. They are usually a little sweeter than what I like. I'm curious to hear your review of it. When I have a scotch I prefer them from Islay. The higher the peat content the better.

That's a long time for leftover beer to hang around without being consumed. Just sayin'.
We’ve cut our alcohol consumption considerably, but I apparently still like buying it.

We just finished the last of the Fall beers this past weekend. Now we’ve got to work on the rest of the Christmas beers, which is about a 12-pack. Considering we’re averaging two beers a week (and that’s for both of us), we’ve got some time to go yet.

Here is a quick tiktok video of most of my bourbon and scotch collection.
You´ve got some nice ones there!
A lot of people find Ardbeg waaaay too peaty. I just suck it up, but my absolute favourite in Laphroaig. I did a tour of their distillery 20 years ago, and I think I´ve probably tried most of their variations , including a 59% cask strength.
I remember asking the distillery manager (who conducted ALL the tours) what the difference was between a 12 year old, a 15 year old and a 25 year old.
With a sardonic smile, he said: "Marketing":cool::cool:
