I think it’s more a case of cluelessness as opposed to willful neglect. I watched her the whole time, and she’s someone who seems to focus on what’s right in front of her and forgets everything else - memory like a goldfish, as they say.
Case-in-point: she finished up her personal visiting, walked over to me, gave me a little pat on the shoulder and said, “Let me just get around behind the bar, and I’ll take your order, hon.”
She walked around the bar, walked over to me, started to say something, and her compadre came over and said, “Hey Jen, you seen the lemons anywhere? I know we have two boxes in the back, but I can’t find them.”
Turned right on her heel and off she went.
Came back about five minutes later with the lemons, cleaned off a table, talked to her friends again, then finally made it over…it was about 30 minutes in total after she brought me the menu that she finally took my order.
