Removing the smell of garlic or fish from your hands?
I've seen stainless steel bricks that are supposed to do that. Never tried it. Lemon juice works just fine.

I should have posted this on 'What's this for?' thread. Clue - the handle is spring loaded.
When I saw the first picture, I thought it might be to stamp or cut a round shape, but the edges seemed to be awfully thick to do that, so I didn't guess that, but will now.

Does it stand up on the flat end when in use?
Sort of - it is held in a perpendicular position when in use, with the hollow side down.
I don't think any of you will have one of these. I didn't even know they existed until a few weeks ago.
Is it Australian?
Is it used in baking or roasting, to support a type of food?
