What's your worst cooking disaster?

I have a tie for my worst cooking. When I first started cooking I made gravy. And I wanted to add flavor. Knowing nothing about cooking or spices I went HEAVY on the pepper. We couldn’t eat it. My other worst cooking was I thought about cooking corn on the cob in beer. The dogs wouldn’t even eat it.
My brother did something similar as a kid trying to impress the neighbour's daughter. Only it was chilli pepper and he didn't think ½tsp was enough, so added over 2 tbsps for good measure. :pepper:

Yeah, I think my worse one was chili related as well.
I was making goulash (gulyas) and used a heck of a lot of paprika.
Except it was no paprika, but chili....

I then went to look what else there was and added tomato, cucumber, yoghurt and whatever else I could find.
This was student days, so no ways were we going to throw it away!

I think I may have just scored my worst cooking disaster...
My sister passed at the start of the year and left all her recipes, handwritten, in a couple of notebooks.
One was a White Chocolate Mousse Cake, which really caught my attention. found all the ingredients, beat the cream (it said "double cream"which we don't have over here) and it wouldn't thicken; added the egg white (which should have been beaten separately) then dumped in the chocolate... :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:
I'd never make it as a pastry chef, never. The "cake"was left in the fridge overnight and came out as a terrible gloopy mess. Arrrggghh!
Tasted good, mind you, but more like white chocolate mousse soup...
