No idea if my oven heats to the right temperature or not, but I just rely on its digital display and the fact I've been using it for 15 years. Having said that, you all know I'm not a baker, so the oven tends to get used for baked savoury dishes, rather than cakes and bread.
I did buy a meat thermometer a few years back, however, because I was asked to make some roast beef.
My ovens both get used for just about everything. The regular oven is for big things, such as a slab or rack of ribs, a whole turkey, if I ever do one in there, a cake that's in a ten" tube pan or a large casserole.
The toaster oven gets used for small things, like small cakes, leftovers, slices of pizza, small casseroles, steaks, hot snacks & other things that are small.
I, also, have a meat thremometer, but I seldom use it for things cooked in the toater oven It's mainly for things cooked in the regular oven.
