I also say shallot, never heard it otherwise pronounced, personally.
Perfectly normal here, although the American English 'spelled' is becoming more widespread. It seems, if you go back to 1800 'spelt' was more common than 'spelled' in America. If you want more detail see here: Spelt or Spelled: What’s the Difference? - Writing Explained

We have both spelt and spelled used here in the US, as well as burned and burnt. I've seen and heard both throughout my life.

That's why I was confused about how spelt and spelled had anything to do with shallots...
I´ve always pronounced it " Sha -LLOTS", but I imagine the reason is that I use the "french" pronunciation of "échalotes".
I think this is a "whateverrocksyourboat" pronunciation challenge.
