Had a little talk with my neighhhh-bor today:
Photo retouching has many purposes, often cleaning up extraneous elements that appear in an image.
The big problem with the following two Connecticut Victorian house photos was the wires, wires for telephone, wires for power and so forth. The houses were webbed with wires.

In the second photo which I include here, it was not entirely cleaned up and some of the wiring problem is still visible.
You belong among the wildflowers...
I often have to take wires and other things out of my car photos. Sometimes I have to go a bit further, like when I can't photograph really good car in a good location, like this 1931 Cadillac V-12.

That kind of work is tedious, and takes a good bit of time, but it is very rewarding when you are done.
