I hauled my buddy's canoe down to his houseboat tonight so he can have a way of getting around the harbor without too much hassle.

The nosey local couple in the neighborhood decided to check things out.

It was a pretty sunset here the other night as well. Here's my boat, The Little Girl, all buttoned up after a good run on the lake. The water was so calm that I got her up to 35 knots before the marine patrol weenies gave me a warning.

We took a trip to Linlithgow yesterday to have a look at the palace and surroundings. Linlithgow is about twenty miles or so west of Edinburgh, not quite half way between Edinburgh and Glasgow. It is an attractive market town, one of few these days that seems to retain a good core of local, independent shops. This is the market cross, with the burgh building.

Linlithgow Palace was a royal seat, the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots among others. Naturally enough, there is a statue of Mary in the grounds.

The palace itself is essentially just a shell of a building, with no internal decor. The walls are fully preserved, however, making its appearance quite formidable.
