Food dyes were the absolute devil in this country for so many years that it's quite the surprise now to discover they're all naturally sourced sensible dyes now.

It was so vehement they were absolute poison it still makes me queasy now to use decent natural food colourings!

What did you use to turn the blue eggs blue? (I know beets can work for the red ones.)

Absolutely
There are perfectly natural non toxic vegetable dyes now. You can even make your own.

My mum always used cochineal to make pink icing for birthday cakes.
She'd have had a screaming fit if she'd known it was made of ground up beetles (cochinilla)

Finally got round to looking at the pics of the 4th July.
We actually ate takeaway Mexican from Chipotle. The fireworks were fantastic however!
