Christmas 2024

I am cooking for one of my friends (and her children) who has a burnout, its her birthday and christmas gift combined.

The menu for 4 vegetarians :

Starter: Puff pastry tarts with thyme, onion chutney and goats cheese

Main: Roast vegetable lasagne ( courgette, aubergine, peppers) with buffalo mozzarella

Dessert: poached pears, cinnanon marzipan babka and custard

I’m happy to report that my Christmas card habit seems to be paying off - two of my brothers have contacted me to say they’re going to start sending them, after…well, never sending them.

I can see from our mail tracker that one will be waiting for me when we get home.

Would have thought it pretty obvious really. Got it from the start. Don't actually like it though... sentimental clap trap.
I watched it again, knowing the plot they were aiming for…and it’s still muddled and random to me. I think It’s like an opera…you need to know the story before you go.

Reading the comments, there’s a fair amount of confusion on others’ parts as well, so now I don’t feel so thick.

Bring back The Bear and the Hare!

No tree here as yet. I have in the past decorated a 'light up' minimalist twiggy tree with mini baubles. Daughter may help do that at the weekend but I am more concerned about getting presents sorted. More to be ordered, as son's girlfriend and their new baby (due any time) will be here for Xmas dinner.
