How is the corona virus affecting you?

Not a normal way to purchase a vehicle in California:

Damfino if car and truck dealer are falling on hard times but this was our experience.
We bought a new truck (Lorry) to tow our Recreation Vehicle and the entire transaction was handled online, sight unseen. They knocked 12% off the MSRP and threw in a $3500 rebate.
They even appraised our trade-in (sight unseen) and gave us a really good price for it. Full retail + $500, more than if I listed it. That's about $5000 above low book value.

Truck was built just days before the shut down and just after a strike then trained to town from the factory back east in Michigan after we ordered it. Then it was delivered to our home by a masked, sanitized and gloved employee. Signed my name a few times and was handed the keys, the employee drove off in our trade-in.
Yeah it's American, a combination lock gun safe hidden under the center console, standard.

Truck had 36 miles on it which means they took it to their proving center to insure it was assembled properly. That's ok in my book.

First trip will be to Sedona Arizona where we can distance ourselves in the desert.
Hopefully the dog friendly cafes will be back in biz but we don't expect them to be.
But we understand the stunning scenic trails are still open.

Wife is an RN and works at the largest Hospital system in Southern Calif and they've had 12 CV cases systemwide, all survived.

I almost forgot to mention: I had a "virtual family reunion" this past weekend, with people from California, Massachusetts, Ohio, Illinois, and Florida. We had over 20 people, in 17 windows, and it was really a cool thing.

We did the reunion on Zoom, which is a conferencing app that many businesses are using these days for meetings. I didn't even know it existed until a month ago. Ford has used WebEx for many years, and we virtually never use the video part of the tool.

I'm happy one of my aunts thought of it, but the situation in the world today is the only reason this happened. The idea for meeting people remotely clicked with her as a way to get the extended family together. Prior to the world shutting down, I think any reunion plans would have involved a physical meeting near where most of the family is (in Massachusetts). So, in a weird way, some good came out of all this.
Wife and daughter are using zoom ATM.

Well, C-19 is making my dish dryer pull double duty as my produce dryer:

One positive thing in all this - I think I've developed the habit of washing/rinsing produce and somewhat prepping it ahead of time, something I always saved until actually using the ingredient. This has sped up my day-of-cooking prep, that's for sure.

The corona measures are starting to irritate my fellow countrymen, people are getting more lenient about the rules every day. IKEA had opened again last weekend and the lines were fenomenal. The government is urging people to 'please' stay home but for a nation of stubborn northerners with a 'we'll get over it' attitude this will not work.
So I am expecting either a full lockdown by the end of the month or a return to the new normal, where 1.5 metres of social distance should become the social norm. I don't think that will happen.
So if things get back to normal (with closed restaurants and banned festivals) I will have to self isolate more than now, because I am in at risk group and can't take the chance of being infected in a second wave. I'm not looking forward to that.

As for how it's going with my eldest stepson, he's bought himself a computer and is now completely obsessed with that, causing us to have relative peace at home for a while. His younger brother will get a break from the stress by staying with his mom for the weekend.
My husband and I are also getting therapy to be able to cope with all the stress, and the doctor has prescribed sleeping medication for me so I can cope with all the stress and get enough rest to stay relatively OK considering my other health conditions.

That's good. Although - depending on what he is looking at, it could I suppose cause more anxiety. If he gets obsessed by configuring software or something technical, that could be a good obsession.

Our Government (read Commanding Officers) have extended the booze ban "until further notice". However, from Monday 3rd May 2020 many amenities will be permitted to re-open.

That's not how it works with him though. He gets obsessed with something for a while, usually less than a week and then returns to prioritizing his OCD over everything. Also his developmental delay makes him unable to do many practical things, he's still mentally about 12 and prioritises play. So we're basically waiting for the next crisis. However more and more help is getting in place and there's also people looking for a place in a care home for him so it's going in the right direction.

People baffle me. There's a fellow in our street who walks round with a disinfectant spray all the time and religiously sprays just about anything he's going to touch, yet yesterday, he was chatting away to a couple of people (nowhere near two metres) and then giving them big hugs and hand clasps.
