Same here. My problem is when I plan to just use everything up in the freezer and/or pantry before buying more, I find a tremendous sale that I just can't pass up, and then I buy a bunch of the meat or whatever shelf stable or freezeable items and load it back up again, LOL!

I have just been offered a whole lamb. $10 kg which is unheard of here. Around $200 but I have 3 legs already in the freezer. And not much room.
Decisions??

Time to rearrange some stuff and perhaps make a plan to cook some of the other stuff you have on hand. Heck, I'd be tempted to buy another (or just a larger) freezer! But maybe a neighbor or friend would like to go in on it with you?

I have 2 large chest freezers in the garage and 2 fridge freezers , 1 also on the garage and 1 inside. And all nearly full. The thing is I use and replace quickly. Last week family entree 15 chicken croquettes!! 2 x 2litre containers. Then there's boxes of samosas.

Yeah, I have to scramble when hubby goes fishing and catches a good bit, as I have to make room for it in the freezer. Oh, 1st world problems, LOL.

Plans for today; sleep. I didn't get much last night due to a thunderstorm starting around 10pm, hit us hard at 1:30am and then again at 3am and 4:30am... very patchy nights sleep between the massive amount of lightning and to a lesser extent thunder but also losing power multiple times during the night. When the power comes back on, my reading lights which are on a remote control via a wireless lightbulb always come back on in the on position and because they are extra bright for knitting darker coloured yarn in, they light up the garden superbly... which naturally wakes me up... grrr

So I've been out and freed the chooks. 1½hrs after dawn it is still too dark out for the light sensor on their automatic door to have even reached the light level of 40 at which point a 5 minute timer should start. ordinarily them being locked in isn't a problem because normally there is food and water inside their sleeping quarters but because of a serious number wild birds currently entering their roost, there's no food in there...

The place is under water right now, so I can't see that I'll be able to get out to do the shopping today, so back to bed to catch up on that concept of sleep whilst I mull over some recipes involving flour...

It was 92F here today while I was out, whew that took a lot out of me. Got MIL some goodies she will like. I was a bit worried about the chocolate melting in the car while I ran into get the batteries, but thankfully they held up, even though my car was hot as Hades when I came back out (I was unable to find a shady parking spot).

I think we hit 92F at 10AM. We topped out at 101F/38C. At 7PM, it is still 100F.:heat: So much for cooking outdoors.

Yeah no doubt! And I thought this was bad:
88596

Considering how much further north we are, it is awful.

Well the thunderstorms have temporarily stopped, the rain hasn't...

It's hard to explain how much extra water is out there. But the creek that runs into the first dam isn't usually there... It's a dry creek actually just a fold in the field. There's a similar volume flowing out from dam 1 into dam 2 and out of dam 2 across the field...
The creek is about 5m wide behind those pine trees.

The road will be being washed away on either side of us. We've had another 10mm since those photos were taken. It isn't due to stop raining for quite some time yet.

You need to get some ducks!
