Plans for this week:

  • Getting back to studying (I just finished 5 chapters in English, yay!)
  • Relaxing and enjoying time with my husband
  • Visiting Castlefest Castlefest | Where fantasy becomes your reality a fantasy fair we go to every year, except the past two years due to covid. So we're really looking forward to it! I can only go friday and sunday morning due to my physical shape, but it's great to spend some time there anyway. My husband (on my insistence) is going the full weekend.
  • Trying to make some bracelets again
That's it. Just focussing on relaxing and having fun.

After lunch I am going to give Merlot's litter tray it's weekly do, clean out Rolo's cage then empty the bins. Was looking to do some gardening but will wait and see what the weather is doing. We have had rain, it is still a bit drizzly off and on but really quite humid.

My yard looks like a pasture again. It’s been raining a lot the last couple of weeks, so no chance to mow, because the yard never dries out.

The weather report called for three straight days of sun (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), so I planned on having a go at it today…and the forecast has changed to rain all day today and tomorrow. 😠

I placed a pick-up order at Walmart for Mom as there were a few things we couldn't get at her local grocery store.
So, DH & I will bring her those things, along with a few of my homemade dishes for later consumption and we'll all have lunch together at her complex's dining room.

No gardening here. The garden will have to be "tidy enough". 20mm of rain overnight and we're back to standing water on the 'lawn'.

Today, despite the rain and humidity and cold I need to hover the house and wash all the floors. I don't bother normally in winter because the humidity inside the house afterwards is running off windows, down the walls and onto the floor the next day, but with the house inspection tomorrow, I need to make the house look a little cleaner and the easiest way of doing that is too make the kitchen floor a shade or two lighter by washing it! Then I've got to attack the bath with the vacuum cleaner to remove a degree of dust from it, and finally attack the mud room to remove a significant level of crap walked into the house....

As well as cook lunch (roasted red pepper and lentil soup or aubergine curry). And chop wood.

Today's plans are surprisingly limited.

The house is clean after the inspection.
I cooked yesterday and the day before, so don't need to cook again today, just reheat.
Washing can't dry because it's raining, so no need to consider.

So all I need to do today is
  • Take hubby and I to physio
  • Visit the rural supplies store for chook feed
  • Visit the pharmacy
  • Post some cards to the UK (3 birthdays at the end ifthis month)
  • Chop wood for the fire
  • Empty water out of the water tank because the overflow is blocked (with water, the soil is waterlogged and can't take anymore, so the overflow is full of water....)
  • Check the chooks food & water
  • Do the veg shopping this afternoon
  • Drop off remaining burn notifications to neighbours on other side. (I did 1 side yesterday).
  • Sleep...

You already did (or are going to do) far more than I did today.
Yeah, I worked for an hour and went to the pharmacy. Other than that I didn't do a whole lot other than a little bit of paperwork. I didn't even make hubby's breakfast today!
Yeah, it looked more once I wrote it up... but going out anywhere costs $20‐25 in fuel, so i don't go out unnecessarily. Round here there is no popping down to the local shop (except on a Wednesday afternoon for fruit & veg, but she's talking of changing her hours to Fri, Sat, Sun. )

Plus writing it down helps me remember everything in one go! I don't have to work out how to get back out to the pharmacy before I run out of meds next week without specifically driving +100km just to go there.

That makes perfect sense to me. The pharmacy was on the way home from my audit (which was only 15 miles away), and I also stopped at a nearby gas station and filled up my car's tank.

My frig/freezer are so full that we are working on eating the leftovers in it before I shop anymore. Plus our garden is producing plenty of salad ingredients.

I filled my gas tank on July 5 ($89.00). I currently have just under half a tank left. I like living close to everything I need.

My day today was:

1. Get up, shower, online work, breakfast and tea.
2. Work at my job
2a. Attend a meeting about some kind of job failure that happened when I was out to lunch, so I had no idea what was going on
2b. Attend a meeting with another team having a problem with something they’re convinced I can help with, even though I have no expertise in what they’re working on, and have told them so twice now (2nd meeting for this)
2c. Other miscellaneous tasks.
3. Lunch: voting and quick drug store stop.
4. Pull weeds. Enough of that nonsense.
5. Help MrsT pack.
6. Drive to airport hotel.
7. Eat a very bad meal, do some work since I left early.

And I feel exhausted!
