I used to travel to the west coast for work over years. I too had awesome views and got paid for it. A bonus isnt it??

Russ
It's wonderful. Paid to travel and go places you have never been (or only been a few times) is such an amazing thing! Today I was driving in the Allegheny Mountains of Pennsylvania and it was breathtaking. The small towns had amazingly beautiful old homes, churches, and other buildings, some of which were very well maintained, others which were not, but they were still very interesting. I didn't get the opportunity to stop to take any photos, and it was cloudy so it wouldn't have looked as beautiful in my photos as the scenery I actually saw today. But the mist coming off the mountains after the light rain today was also striking. I know in NZ that you see that stuff all the time (I saw Lord of the Rings which as you know was filmed there, just amazing scenery), it must be old hat to you!

I googled and found the photo of one bridge I saw and it looks pretty close to how I viewed it:

I like that I am able to use one of my extra Apple wireless keyboards with the AppleTV instead of just the remote. It makes searches easier -- and entering my *&^%$ Apple ID for the umpteenth time.
When I know I have to enter some text, I use the remote app on my phone, or Siri in a pinch.

Plans for Friday:

Pick Mom up in the AM

Take Mom grocery shopping (she hates to shop, but she'll come with me for some reason)

Take Mom to the Bank, she needs some pocket money and I need to make sure that they have a copy of my POA so I can do business

Take Mom to have her new eye glasses adjusted (I must have asked her 5x's "are those ok for ya Ma? "FINE" but when Mrs Next Door Neighbor asked her last night at Bingo, "What's up with those glasses Ruth? Why are you wearing them so funny?" They're too tight behind my ear, it hurts 🙄)

Take Mom someplace she's never been for lunch (I gotta research that tonight)

Take Mom back home and put her groceries away for her (which gives me the opportunity to snoop around and make sure everything in her new apartment is okey-dokey 😉 )

All of the above will poop her out much, I'm certain that she'll well tomorrow!

I worked today along Lake Erie through Ohio, Pennsylvania, and into New York. It was such a beautiful drive, miles and miles of vineyards, some of which are along the lakefront. You can see the lake peeking through the trees here:

I had such an easy day I can't believe they paid me! I'm actually only 2 hours away from Niagara Falls in my hotel in Jamestown, NY, near Lake Chautauqua where Lucy and Desi lived (I Love Lucy). They have a museum here dedicated to Lucille Ball. Anyway, up in the morning and I'll work my way home.

Here's Lake Erie:

I loved the drive along the ocean and here.

I'm doing paperwork right now and submitting my expense report for my trip. I need to go rummage around in the freezer and find some grouper to take out for dinner...while I am at it I am going to organize that garage freezer and I might get around to doing the one in the kitchen as well. Other than that, just going to relax and regroup. I need to do some housecleaning but that can wait until tomorrow.

Seriously considering taking the rest of the summer off from work and just hanging out with hubby, maybe taking a couple of road trips, just the two of us. I did make good bank and I can afford to splurge a little and take him somewhere. We are going to South Carolina in October, but maybe someplace closer to home? Since he hasn't gone back to work since 2019 and probably won't the rest of the year, might as well! I have a feeling he will get motivated in the spring and do something, not sure if he will return to the same job (they have been hounding him to come back to work). We shall see what the future brings.

Took Psycho-Poodle to the veterinary diagnostic doc today. Ka-chiing -- there goes a thousand bucks. Add that to the $350 I spent on him yesterday at his regular vet.

He has a large mass on his bladder. I should know tomorrow whether it is benign or malignant.

Hoping for some good news for you and PP.

We know those bills well. $900 here, $1100 there…pretty soon it adds up to real money! :scratchhead:

Yeah we also call them cribs. I dont know the origin?

Russ
In the US, it's slang with certain people just to call any home a "crib". I never have, for the record.
Dam sandflies and I dont get on.

Russ
Stay in the water! I am also betting that they are seasonal, just try to figure out which season they are not around. I bet you can "giggle" it, LOL!
