I do washing and dry over a clothes horse in the lounge. Heat pump is set on 22 deg c.

If I can, I prefer not to dry the clothes in the house because the sitting room ends up very damp. And in the mornings, I'll come in and the condensation can be that bad that it's run down the windows, over the windowsills and down the wall to the floor... we do have those damp crystals that absorb water but apart from not being particularly environmentally friendly, they also can't cope with clothes drying as well as the water vapor produced by burning wood... And the humidity this winter has been very bad. That bad that my vehicle which isn't being used at the moment as 3 such pots of those crystals in it to try to stop the carpet, seats and seatbelts from going anymore moldy than they already have done (I caught it early but not early enough so will need to sterilize the vehicle in spring. I'll probably pay someone for a professional clean to kill the final spores.

On the bright side, I've had no problems growing pink oyster mushrooms in the sitting room this winter.

Heat pumps are not very effective in the summer where I live, and are terrible energy users in the winter, compared to gas heat. You don't see or hear about them much here.

Most of the schools in Frisco are geothermal. I don't know much about that, but I guess it works well.

Heat pumps here are a treat. I figure I've worked hard all life, I'm not going to freeze or cook in winter or summer. We get a day a month if free power. Our power is about 200 a month. On average??

I'm baking today

Pumpkin Snack Cake topped with roasted Pumpkin Seeds and Dark Chocolate Chips.
I made this last November and it was a hit at Neighborhood Gal Pal Card afternoon, so I'm making this again for Bingo Night tomorrow.

Plans for today are anything but quiet however it is for a day of medical tests... an injection this morning and then some imaging of my entire spine this afternoon to see what's going on with the bones but because there is only 4hrs between the injection and the imagining, we're having a day in town (little point in driving the 75 minutes each way between home and where this scan is being done). So lunch will be eaten out somewhere and we will no doubt be at a loose end before long.

My holidays on the old farm of my family will be very relaxing.
They've a small garden with tomatoes, cukes, pumpkin, carrots, salad, Zucchini, various herbs and many apple trees. I'm gonna harvest something, to make something delicious.

Then I'm gonna visit at least two of three uncles.
When I'm alone, I'll do some easy exercising and voice training for better communication.

Today:
Finish putting away the heavy stuff after our home improvements
Clean myself up, having been sweating like a horse all morning, and smelling like one too :D
Pick Mom up from her apartment
Pick up Mrs. Next Door Neighbor
All of us are going out to dinner at the community across the ways from us
Bingo Night over at the community next to ours
I love these kind of evenings and I accomplished what I wanted to earlier too so win-win for me
