Just drunk some water as instructed. It doesn't taste of much. Will it be OK to add wine?
No! Do not ruin your wine by putting it in water!

You know, you could freeze some strawberries to add to your white wine to keep it cold while you are drinking it. Not enough water content to ruin your wine.

If anyone wants to trade... ❄️ ❄️ :cold:

Apparently it only feels like -7°C here.

At least I have a fire in the sitting room... it's holding the room at a balmy 15°C.

I'll bale on knitting group today though because once again my back is sore from trying to sleep and needs ice on it and frankly it's seriously not warm enough here to sit with an ice pack on my spine.

PS, to those struggling with the heat, remember to rehydrate not just with plain water. You'll need to add dioralyte or similar rehydration salts to the water to prevent diluting already depleted salts (not just sodium) further. Water poisoning is very possible in those conditions.

Water poisoning is pretty hard to do when water is leaving your body so fast. Salts/Electrolytes are important, but here in Texas, we don't worry about "too much " plain water. I don't know if Gatorade is available everywhere, but we switch between water and Gatorade in the Texas heat. Mostly water, with a few Gatorades during the day.

It is fun to give someone unfamiliar some "Blue Ice" Gatorade. They get in a panic the next day. The dyes in that flavor make your 💩 turn green.

Pedialyte is pretty good, too.

The point is that it isn't only water leaving the body. But it it's only water going in when you just increase water.

Both urine and sweat contain salts and the body needs to balance salt carefully.

(Something I have to be very careful about not producing the natural steroid that controls this process and constantly being hypokalaemic and I can't drink anything fizzy or flavoured due to a chronic geographic tongue.)

Salt/electrolytes are important, but less so for people with a colon than for people without one/or athletes. That's why most drinks containing electrolytes and salt are geared at people who are very active or professional athletes. Just eating a little more salt, drinking enough water and little physical activity should be enough for the average person.

For me, I eat a lot of salty foods (hospital RD advised me to take double the recommended amount on normal days, due to having no colon) and even more on hot days. Plus at least one bidon of a sports drink or ORS solution. And I drink a litre more than the recommended adult amount as well. Also a tip if dehydration is a concern: my nurse told me that drinking alone isn't always the solution, eating liquid foods like soup, custard, and ice cream all help to absorb more water. As does eating fruit. So about everything you shouldn't do, caseydog

Hoping to get the yard mowed during lunch. We’re supposed to have heat indexes at 100F+ and the possibility of severe weather this evening.

It’s also laundry day, and work, of course.

Seen the lung specialist today. Results are inconclusive, more research is needed. Some specific tests need to be done, but can only be done at a certain location so I'll have answers in september. Some possibilities have been discussed, but none yet worth mentioning until I am sure. What is certain is I DON'T HAVE ASTHMA. So that's one win :okay:
