Plans for today (2024)

My first week of retirement. Been making an actual breakfast every morning rather than grabbing and going out the door. Today it yard work. The normal dishes and laundry chores. Hit the gym. Cook a nice dinner for my wife and have it ready gets she gets from work.

Yer that must really suck.
Are you on the right trajectory?

I think so. Its hard to know. But I'm waddling better than I was last week.

Plan for today, tomorrow and next few days is washing. My boiler leaked all over the linen cupboard below it. When this happened I don't know as I've been unable to even reach the cupboard until recently - but suffice it to say that most of the stuff had gone mouldy. This includes a lot of my clothes which got moved there because I have had to sleep downstairs for many months (to keep an eye on partner with dementia).

Anyway, today it was my tight collection amongst other things...

Soz I can only pick one emoji.
It doesn't fit with being unwell and having to care for your husband but it soooo fits with your tights collection!

I have a lot of those colours but I take my hat off to the master!!!

Also good to hear you're waddling and not seated.

How's Mr Morning Glory doing?
And how are you doing caring for him after mishaps?
He isn't my husband BtW... i am anti marriage.

He is still in respite care until I am better.Getting fatter from what I hear.

Ah yes my apologies, I forgot you're anti marriage. As I've said before I completely understand your feelings on that topic. Chattel much?!!

I'm glad to hear he's still in respite and you're not damaging your recovery. Getting fatter is usually a sign of good care.

How's the boiler shaping up? They're usually expensive and annoying things to get fixed?!

These past few days have been hectic because friends and family are arriving from Venezuela, Mexico, France, Spain and Portugal for my granddaughter's baptism and we're up to 8 people in a 2-bedroom flat...
Tuesday I got off the plane, took the Tube to Central London, dumped my suitcase and went out to a football game within the hour. Then Wednesday I took a Mexican guest on a tour of London and (naturally) ended up in Masala Zone for lunch. Yesterday we trundled around Kensington, through Hyde Park, along Piccadilly and then ate in a brilliant place called "Wok to Walk". I'll try to add details later on. Today I've got no idea what's happening but we'll probably end up strolling around London somewhere.
1st day was a visit to Camden, where the shop facades are creatively painted and adjusted.

It's been reviewed on another forum. Not real orange-y tasting, but does taste like what the several who tried it remember a Dreamsicle tasting in their youth.
A dreamsicle is one of a very few cold ice cream-based treats that I really enjoy, so I’m hopeful.

I also like Magnum white chocolate bars and those strawberry shortcake things…but not the chocolate ones.

Despite falling into bed after midnight we were both up, showered, cases unpacked, washer on and TVC went round the corner to get milk and a few bits by 7am.

Pick up the kids in an hour then grocery shop. Back to normality with a bump.
