Plans for today (2024)

A dreamsicle is one of a very few cold ice cream-based treats that I really enjoy, so I’m hopeful.

I also like Magnum white chocolate bars and those strawberry shortcake things…but not the chocolate ones.

On the flight back we were given a small pot of chocolate ice cream, it was the best bit on the food.

Out an about, my usual Saturday, but the truth is, I don’t have much to buy, so I may go somewhere I normally wouldn’t drive to, just to kill time. Washington Court House? Yellow Springs? Peebles? Who knows?!

Should I ever mention anything even close to a desire to clear out my utility again just tell me loud and clear NOOOOOOO!!!!!
I don't have a basement but I do have the other things, there's also a shipping container in the yard for storing large items and rarely used items (decorating stuff, boxes with hobby equipment, extra chairs n tables etc) but really I don't like owning so much stuff.

So this Nordic thing "döstädning" death cleaning thing I read about (I think it was medtran49 who mentioned it) made me think a good declutter is over due. I'm gonna Kondo the cr*p out of my place. Clearly too many things spark joy!

I have to be more ruthless.
Took four boxes to the charity shop this morning (good things, things people will like or would be useful) and was rudely told "TWO ONLY" I said which two would you like? she replied "I don't care" so I brought back the antique china pieces and the spare teapots because I do like them and I couldn't bear to leave them with her.

I'm sure it's a difficult job especially after a spring bank holiday but honestly it wasn't nice.
I saw her eyeing up the Morphy Richards Express Spiraliser so said I'd printed the instructions out for it yesterday they're in the box. That seemed to make her very happy.

Heyho. Nearly there now.
I think I am supposed to tell you NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

If you go to Jungle Jim's you could spend an hour or 2 there...
I was there last weekend, so I want to mix it up.

I ended up tromping around Centerville-Kettering, and have thus far managed to spend nearly $100 on “I don’t have much to buy.”

Today in recovering from a cab sav and a merlot.
Wifes bestie bought those wines after I said bring nothing .
So started with Coronas then the wine.
We had dessert then cards then the wine kicked in. I went upstairs about 11 and went to bed .
Still betting today but that's all. Ham I'm doing will take 30 min prepping around 4pm.

I had a few rum drinks last night so painting wasn't fun but we got it done and it looks great!

After the baptism yesterday we had a buffet lunch laid on at a local pub. Very good, I'd say. Excellent service, happy servers, good food...
That lasted till about 4.30pm. From there we moved down to a riverside pub for a couple of pints, just so the guests could get a feeling for British riverside pubs!
Then it was off to Covent Garden.
Sooooo, it should be a fairly quiet day today, because everyone is going back to their respective countries. We'll have to see. The only plan I've got at the moment is to take the dog for a walk!

Per the usual, I just play it by ear and have a general idea of what I might decide to do. I cleaned some mirrors and dusted off the items on my husband's night stand, and I put some sprouts in a sprouting jar to soak. I have been meaning to do that for awhile. I had found a plastic mesh lid for a wide-mouth mason jar on Amazon for less than $2 and it took awhile to get here. I have had the seeds (but no motivation) for awhile and now that I am feeling like eating sprouts I decided to go ahead and start them. I decided to do a smaller amount this first time around just to see if hubby will eat any of them or if I will be on my own. The blend I bought has alfalfa, radish, mung bean, and broccoli seeds. I think it sounds like a good addition to salads and sandwiches, can't wait to see how they turn out!

I can’t believe it, the mower cranked right over, didn’t even sputter once. I’ve got about a third of the yard mowed.

Before that, I have two intrusive shrubby things that I’ve been meaning to deal with for a couple of years. Of course, I put it off until they’re nearly too big to handle, but I got them cut down to the stumps and painted those with some nuclear stump killer, so let’s hope that’s that for those.

I also tidied up the herb garden.
