I'm lying in bed. I woke up at 7 because it's trash collection day and that's when their very noisy truck arrived in front of our house. Typically they come between 6-7. The funny thing is that for the past several days we've gotten phone messages stating that because of expected excessive traffic in our area due to the solar eclipse, trash service would occur earlier than normal and customers should please put their trash containers out the night before (which we always do anyway). Guess their drivers didn't get the message.

Guess I'll go make tea.

I am also in bed with a cup of tea.

Well day two of the bathroom games.
Doesn't look like I'm going to be getting tea bags today!

It was chaos over at the train station and on the highways yesterday with everyone trying to get home after the eclipse, so we elected to stay with my bro and SIL for one more night.

My bro gave us a lift home this morning (he works not far from us), and we’re settled back home. Plan for the rest of the day involves working from home and laundry.

The actual eclipse- being in the area where the moon completely covers the sun - was SO COOL. Even with cloudy skies, it was otherworldly.

I had to take Strider for a 3 week recheck. He somehow managed to get a Pseudomonas ear infection even though his ears and face get cleaned regularly since he's a pug. Still haven't eradicated it entirely. Back in another 2 weeks.

Today involves spending money on stuff.
1 granddaughter txt order for lunch..makkas for a change her and her posse. Burgers fries and drinks. $55. Approx.
Booze $235
Telecom $150.
Asian/indian shop $50 to 100.
Home by 3 as daughter wants sauces from.garage.

Off to Alcampo (the large supermarket here) gonna buy some of their terrible teabags and a lot of different saffrons.
Will make space in my panniers and take the saffron back to Blighty for some paella action (after the hominy action that is).

Then packing the bikes and getting everything ready for tomorrow when we start the ride back to the UK so we can swap the bikes over

Fortunately grumbly tumbly seems to be settling down so I won't have to fear the worse- riding a motorbike with bad guts and a lot of clothing layers on small roads where there are no service stations and you don't know where any loos are!

Then once packed, a lot of cleaning because I have to come back to a tidy place, the thought of leaving anything messy or unclean while I'm away has a habit of dogging my thoughts!

Then this evening find the coordinates for the places we're going and adjusting them because google and garmin use different coordinate formats, what are they thinking doing that?! Who doesn't use google maps to look at where something is?

Today's plans include meeting a friend for lunch in Piccadilly, giving a language class via Google Meet and then hopping over to the pub for Quiz Night.
