Today is Saturday, so I usually run around on my own in order to give MrsT some privacy while talking over Zoom to her bestie in Florida.
A little unusual today - heading back up to the VW dealer…you know that little back compartment cover that hatchbacks and SUVs have, that thing that runs the width of the car, fitted behind the back seats, to keep prying eyes from seeing what you may be carrying back there?
Well, MrsT’s new car is missing that. I’ve never had a car not include that as standard equipment, so my assumption was that the dealer took mine out for whatever reason and forgot to replace it before they sold the car, but nope…internet research reveals that is indeed a $125US option.
Before I’d found all that out, I’d texted the dealer and asked about it, because I thought it was included - I finally heard back from them and they said if I came back up, they’d “work something out and take care of you,” so I’m either going to get one at cost, or they’re going to murder me and push the car with my body in it into the Scioto River.
New work laptop - I think I finally have everything set up and working, but it was a bear, taking from about 10AM to 7PM to get it all done, with lots of backtracking and reinstalling this and that, all made worse because in the middle of all this, they made corporate-level dictates, pushing us all to move to OneDrive (that slowed everything down considerably), swapping out my second virtual machine from a VMWare desktop to an infernal MS 365 Cloud virtual desktop, and moving from Cisco AnyConnect/Ping for VPN to ZScaler/MS Authenticator…all at once. It was a nightmare, but I’m smarter than the average bear, if I do say so myself, and managed to get it up and running in the end. I think…
